If you need to record / scan documents on the move, you might want to give the OneDrive mobile application a go. There is a super easy way to take a picture, and the application will resize and adjust it for you so it looks like a scan. This is really helpful for things like receipts or contract documents you need a record of.
Here is how you do it:
- Open the OneDrive Mobile App on your device (Smartphone)
- OPTIONAL - If you want the receipt / document to be stored in a specific place, navigate to that place on your OneDrive
- Tap the '+' icon at the bottom of the screen
- Select 'Scan' from the menu options
- Position your Smartphone's camera over the receipt / document
- NOTE 1 - For best results ensure it is well lit and entirely within the frame
- NOTE 2- The app will automatically detect the edges of the receipt / document, but you can adjust the corners manually if needed.
- Once you are happy with how it looks, tap the 'capture' button and it will take a picture.
- When you see the preview of the scan, click the tick / confirm
- OneDrive will then ask you to confirm where you are saving the file. (This will be the place you selected at the start but you can change your mind if required.)
