# ✅ How to recover a deleted file in Microsoft 365

We’ve all done it – accidentally deleted a file that we needed. So how do you get it back? Don’t worry, there is a way!

All you need to do is access your Recycle Bin on OneDrive or SharePoint.

Most files can be recovered quickly if you act fast. The Recycle Bin doesn’t have a daily or weekly deletion schedule, but files are typically kept for 93 days (companies may have their own data retention policies in place). It’s best to restore documents as soon as you realise they have been moved to your Recycle Bin.
